Essay Requirement

The essay is an extremely important part of the application. We ask you to reflect upon your past and articulate, for yourself and for the admissions committee, how you have come to the decision to pursue graduate study in your discipline. The essay provides an opportunity for you to share reasons for your interest in your chosen field, your personal plans and expectations, and your knowledge and understanding of the profession. The specific essay requirements for each program can be found by reviewing the downloadable supplemental information for the specific school college from the Forms and Instructions page.

Graduate applicants for the Goldsmith School of Management's Organizational Psychology and International Studies Divisions must submit a two-page personal essay describing the following: (a) the professional organizations to which you belong, (b) honors, activities, and other creative accomplishments and, (c) a brief autobiographical statement.
