Students & Student Life
Students come to study at the Fresno Campus from all over the US and a few from foreign countries. A majority of the students are women. Students' mean age is in the low thirties, with the range from the early twenties to the mid-sixties. About a third of our students are from a non-European ethnic background, and a small percentage have disabilities. The campus encourages applications from ethnic minorities and from bicultural students.
Fresno Campus faculty and administrators encourage student-faculty interaction, creating an atmosphere that is warm and collegial. Faculty and students often meet and mingle at the campus snack shop - known as Sigmund's - and relax on the patio just outside.
Campus policy recommendations usually originate from standing faculty committees as well as from student representatives. Student student participation in school governance is encouraged and students have helped develop policies about professional training placements, the campus' Professional Standards Review Committee and use of the Student Emergency Loan Fund.
Fresno also has an active Student Government Association that sponsors events and activities that enhance the quality of student life.
