The Los Angeles Library
To meet the curricular and research needs of students and faculty, the Los Angeles Campus Library maintains a diverse collection of books, journals, videos, audiotapes, dissertations, doctoral projects, testing materials and electronic resources. The library suite includes photocopiers, microform reader/printers, a reading room and staff offices.
The Los Angeles Library shares an online catalog with the other Alliant Library locations, so resources available anywhere in the system are easily located and requested. Materials that are not owned by Alliant are available through LINK+, interlibrary loan and access to library collections at other institutions in the LA metropolitan area (e.g., UCLA, USC, and the University campuses.
Students and faculty have access to a variety of electronic indexes and databases, many of which include full-text articles and books. Databases such as PsycINFO, Business Source Premier, and Social Science Citation Index are available on public-access computers in the Library and may be searched, via the Web, from students' homes and offices.
Alliant system librarians are available to help students and faculty retrieve information. Throughout the academic year they also offer individual and group training in information retrieval skills and strategies.
